i have a thing for musicals apparently now & sondheim.
anyway, this was a quick three day make that sometimes made me want to tear my hair out. but it was a simple cake for the musical ‘ company ‘ that i know i would of made better if i had more time.
polystyrene cake, with filler for icing & silicone for even more icing. the candles & 35 where 3D modelled from scratch & then resin printed so LED string lights could be poked through to have two separate circuits for the plot of the musical. so the 35 candles could be on while the candles on the outside weren’t.
all in all, there were things i wished i did better but with the time and limited resources i had, i was happy i could help.
oh sweeney todd how i adored you.
still wild that my work got used so heavily in the show and that they finally worked!!
liv is still the queen of the knives though ( sorry finn & harri )

sweeney todd!! my last project on the first year of my ma!!!
this was amazing to work on a production of this size. the sfx wanted me to make nine knives out of stanley knives - seven blood & two special ones.
the blood knives worked by carving out a button to rest on a pipette which would have the blood in it so when the sweeney’s used it, it would look like they were cutting into the necks.
& my favourite knife ( don’t tell the others ), was pirrelli’s knife which was 5-6 hours of just me hand placing gems on the knife and also making a fake blade for it out of a bench scraper
some of the knives were different so i had to figure out how to make them work and mixed with a tube across the neck for more blood - it made an amazing disgustingly blood effect. & also mix in some fake flesh out of latex and wadding and it’s a party!!
( also i did name them of course, it’s me )
oh boy. this one.
this project has been on my mind for over ten years, fourteen to be exact. i first played Bioshock when i was eleven ( my mum still hasn’t forgiven my dad ) but the second i saw atlas talk about the little sister while she was harvesting a body i knew i wouldnt forget the game especially because this project was the reason i discovered the world of prop making
the main project was the syringe but i made the doll to test my abilities to make a child safe prop. the only metal on the doll was the metal wiring and everything was resin printed to mimic metal.
the syringe was hard, with the fuel pump mechanism getting in the way but i managed it. the blood was supposed to be liquid but in the end epoxy made it glow better and it meant no leaks would happen in the future. all of the extra parts were 3D modelled by me and custom made, i made a point of that so i didn’t have to relay on pre made plumping pieces that anyone could get. the bottom hides a battery pack ( i didn’t use three like the picture suggests ) and the connector piece is hollow for the wiring to go through.
i have so much love for these game series that i can put into one post but i’m just happy that i’ve finished it and it’s done.
man this degree is wild.
after the daggers, i was tasked to make lobsters for Dinner by Moira Buffini.
seven in total, two cooked ( not pictured ) & one cooked one has to be cracked.
it was a massive paint job & working out how the thing cracked. but i did it in the end.
next up in the masters !
daggers. from a quick sketch in my BA final project to a 3D modelled, 3D/resin printed & then cast in resin!
granted, the project is not finished. i still have work to do however, it’s a good place for me to jump back into after the production blocks are over.
details of ziggy.
first project on my MA prop making course at @rwcmd. less than two weeks to design & make a musician playing a percussion instrument —— the catch was we had to use all fully recycled materials & no proper measuring.

custom card designs for @ragedolluk.
they wanted a spooky theme mixed with their own logo. design process took a little over ten hours with special attention to the details of the suits of the cards.
props for matilda jr for @kidzrus_stives.
